Commercial Solid Waste Study & Analysis, 2012

The 2006 Solid Waste Management Plan called for the Department of Sanitation to perform a “comprehensive study of the current recycling practices of commercial waste carters in the City” and “commercial establishments”. In 2010, Local Law 32 was passed by City Council to implement a streamlined version of the original study scope.

Using modeled data and surveys, the 2012 Commercial Solid Waste Study and Analysis provides insight into knowledge and behavior of commercial establishments, behavior of waste carters, and provides broad estimates of commercial putrescible garbage and recycling.
