Spring Street Salt Shed

DSNY Spring Street Salt Shed
Spring Street Salt Shed

The Spring Street Salt Shed rises 70 feet tall over the Hudson River and maintains 4,000 tons of salt. With concrete walls, a brick bottom, and a metal glass top, this glass-plated structure provides sound functionality behind a tasteful veneer in NYC’s trendy TriBeCa neighborhood.

Winner of the NYC Art Commission Design Award in 2011, the structure provides parking, cleaning, and repair facilities for over 150 DSNY trucks. Offices for employees from three DSNY Manhattan districts are also housed within the building along with some UPS trucks formerly based on the site.
