Summer Youth Employment Program Applications Now Open!

Apply now for the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP)! SYEP provides New York City youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with summer employment. SYEP participants work in a variety of entry-level jobs at government agencies, hospitals, summer camps, nonprofits, small businesses, law firms, museums, sports enterprises, and retail organizations.

Do you want to help young New Yorkers fulfill their potential?

SYEP provides over 6,500 employers with interns and entry-level employees each year. Youth work up to 25 hours per week for six weeks with the goal of building on their individual strengths and incorporating youth development principles.

Latino College Expo

On March 18, 2017 the Latino College Expo is hosting its 26th Annual College Fair (noon to 3:00pm) preceded by the Annual Leadership Summit (8:00am to noon) for freshmen, sophomores and juniors who are affiliated with program agencies, high schools and community-based organizations. This educational event will be held at New York University's Kimmel Center.

Growing Up NYC

In November, the New York City Children's Cabinet launched the Growing Up NYC digital platform! This new, "mobile-first" website - accessible by phone, tablet, or computer at nyc.gov/growingupnyc - is designed to help millions of New York parents access City services, programs, and events for families and children up to age 12. Parents/caregivers can access everything from free events to parenting classes to temporary cash assistance programs - all at their fingertips.

DDC High School Interns

During the summer of 2017, the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC), in partnership with DYCD, will offer a summer internship program for forty talented NYC high school students to work full-time, in-house, at DDC.

The High School Summer Internship Program is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in architecture, engineering, building trades, public administration, business administration or information technology.

Run for the Future

New York Road Runners (NYRR) Run for the Future is a free summer running and scholarship program for young women going into their senior year of high school. This unique opportunity welcomes those with little to no prior athletic experience and introduces them to the sport of running. Along with support and guidance from NYRR's coaching staff, NYRR Run for the Future participants have access to workshops that teach the new runners about running technique, nutrition, form drills, stretching, as well as, developing healthy body image and goal setting.
