Mayor de Blasio joined officials and Media & Entertainment Commissioner Cynthia Lopez to welcome the inaugural class to the Brooklyn College Barry R. Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema, the only public graduate school in the nation seamlessly integrated into a working film lot, Steiner Studios, and the first public graduate school of cinema in New York City.Read More

Happening in NYC

PEOPLE en Español Festival comes to New York City for the first time. Taking place on October 17-18 at the Jacob Javits Center, the free event celebrates Hispanic culture and entertainment with a variety of performances, interviews, and more.

PaleyFest New York is back, featuring in-depth panels with the cast and creative teams from leading TV series, include “Made in NY” shows like Mr. Robot. PaleyFest runs October 10-19.

Taking place October 19-24, the New York Television Festival connects the community of artists with networks, studios, and production companies. Screenings, panels, and industry events are scheduled throughout the festival.

Congratulations to Commissioner López and the team at PBS’ POV on receiving News and Documentary Emmys for the films When I Walk and After Tiller.
