DEP to Hold Family Go Fish Day at Stuyvesant Cove Park

Commissioner Emily Lloyd of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced that DEP will join with the State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) in a Family Go Fish day event.
The event is sponsored by the Stuyvesant Cove Park Association. Children from 8-12 years old will receive catch and release fishing lessons and DEC will supply rods and reels. The Capital Fishing Tackle Company on West 23 Street will provide bait for the lessons.
DEP staff will be on hand to teach children about the importance of protecting our harbor waters and water conservation.
The event will take place, rain or shine, but will be cancelled if there are lightning and thunderstorms.
