MAYOR GIULIANI ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF BRUCE TEITELBAUM TO SERVE AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF SOLUTIONS AMERICA

Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani today announced the appointment of Bruce J. Teitelbaum as the Executive Director of Solutions America -- a federal political action committee created to bring the common sense approach and problem-solving solutions of Mayor Giuliani to New York State and to the nation. Mr. Teitelbaum, who currently serves as Chief of Staff, will resign his current post effective January 8, 1999.

"Bruce Teitelbaum has been a key player, outstanding public servant, advisor, Chief of Staff, and friend in helping this Administration turn the City around," Mayor Giuliani said. "With every challenge - whether it was organizing a world-class ticker-tape parade for the 1998 World Series Champion New York Yankees within just a few days' notice, helping to move forward the City's Holocaust Museum or making the less-visible, day-to-day decisions that keep government working -- Bruce has always met and surpassed our goals. The importance of his new duties at Solutions America cannot be overstated and I look forward to working with him in this new capacity."

Mr. Teitelbaum said, "It has been a tremendous honor to have served in Mayor Giuliani's Administration. I hope to be able to live up to the trust and confidence that the Mayor has placed in me in this new endeavor and I look forward to the many challenges that our mission at Solutions America will present."

A Brooklyn native, Mr. Teitelbaum attended Yeshiva of Flatbush High School in Brooklyn and received his Bachelor of Arts degree at the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1985. In 1989, he received his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School. Before joining the Mayor's victorious 1993 mayoral campaign, Mr. Teitelbaum worked as an attorney in New York City. He and his ,wife Suri Kasirer, currently reside on the Upper West Side in Manhattan.

Solutions America, created in March 1998, serves as a forum to promote the causes and ideals that have been the success of the Giuliani Administration and to generate policy discussions nationwide.
