STATEMENT BY MAYOR GIULIANI ON PRESIDENT CLINTON'S DECISION TO WEAKEN SANCTIONS AGAINST CUBA
"Cuba is run by a dictator who should be dealt with in the same decisive manner as dictators and oppressive governments are dealt with all over the world - the United States should keep the embargo in place until the oppressor is removed. Fidel Castro has destroyed thousands of lives and should be regarded as among the worst dictators of modern times. He represents everything that is anti-democracy and anti-human rights…I do not see any significant movement on Castro's part that would suggest the United States should lessen the sanctions that are imposed on him."
