OCME

  • The second victim has been recovered and is now in OCME custody.

 FDNY

  • FDNY reports a total patient count of 15, two with fatal injuries, one with severe injuries, two with moderate injuries, ten minor injuries.
  • FDNY Fire Marshals remain on scene to continue their investigation.
  • Debris removal operations continue under the direction of FDNY Fire Marshals.

 NYPD

  • NYPD Arson and Explosion Unit remains on scene conducting their investigation.
  • NYPD officers will provide escorts for any residents looking to reenter any of their buildings that were not issued a vacate order.

DOB/HPD

  • DOB has ordered vacate orders to the following buildings: 4202, 4204, 4206, 4208, and 4210 13th Avenue. 
  • 18 total units vacated (12 residential, 6 commercial).

 NYCEM/ARC

  • Forty-nine residents have been displaced at this time.
  • Twenty-six individuals (17 adults, 9 children) have registered with the American Red Cross. Of those 26 individuals 19 (10 adults, 9 children) have received hotel accommodations. The remaining individuals lodged with family and friends.
  • The resident service center, opened at PS 164 (4211 14th Avenue), has been moved to the Borough Park library located at 1265 43rd Street at 13th Avenue in Brooklyn. The resident service center will be open from 10 AM to 6 PM Monday, and 1 PM to 6 PM Tuesday.
  • Residents are encouraged to check with 311 for updates on apartment vacate status.
  • NYC Emergency Management has light-towers on scene.  
  • NYC Emergency Management Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members have staffed the resident service center to assist with resident registrations.

 CON ED/NATIONAL GRID

  • Gas and electric services have been cut to buildings 4202, 4204, 4206, and 4210 13th Avenue.  

 DEP

  • Air sampling continues.
  • DEP has shut off water service to buildings 4204 and 4206 13th Avenue. 

TRANSPORTATION

  • 13th Avenue between 42 Street and 44 Street is closed to vehicular traffic.
  • 43 Street between 13th Avenue and 14th Avenue is closed to vehicular traffic.
