How do I get a copy of a property record or deed?

Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens Property
You can get a certified copy of a property record or deed dated from 1966 to the present for $4 a page through the Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS). Once you find the document, click on its image, click print document, and use the Document Printing screen to request a copy. Payment for certified copies must be made online when you make the request. Copies will be mailed to the address you provide.

You can get an uncertified copy of a property record or deed dated from 1966 to the present at no cost through ACRIS. Once you find the document, click on its image and use the Printer button on the Viewer toolbar to print your copy.

For records from 1966 to the present, you can also request a certified copy for $4 a page or an uncertified copy for $1 a page in person at any of the Borough City Register Offices listed below using the public access terminals.

For records prior to 1966 for Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx, you must visit the City Register Office in the borough where the property is located. For records prior to 1966 for Brooklyn, you must have the Liber/Reel and page, date recorded, type of document, and number of pages to get copies (the index books for Brooklyn are located in the Queens office).
