NY State of Health
Residents and small businesses can apply online for health insurance through New York State of Health. It is New York State’s Official Health Plan Marketplace and was created under the Affordable Care Act.
Eligible residents can get either public health insurance (Medicaid or Child Health Plus) or tax credits to lower their private health insurance costs. Small businesses must get insurance through NY State of Health in order to claim a tax credit.
If you are under age 65, you must apply through NY State of Health at (855) 355-5777 or online.
If you are age 65 and over, or on Medicare, or need Medicaid related to a disability, you should apply through HRA.
