Boiler Inspection Notice of Violation

You will receive a violation notice if your boiler is not inspected and an inspection report is not filed with the Department of Buildings (DOB) during the annual inspection cycle period.

The 2014 Inspection Cycle is from January 1st to December 31st, 2014.

If a boiler inspection was performed during the inspection cycle period and you filed with DOB, you must provide a copy of the inspection report and cashed check as proof that this violation was issued in error. You may need to contact the licensed professional who performed the inspection to obtain a copy of the inspection report and the cashed check.

You may:

  • Email a scanned copy of the inspection report and cashed check (front and back) to BoilersInfo@buildings.nyc.gov, or
  • Bring a copy of the inspection report and cashed check (front and back) to:

    NYC Department of Buildings Customer Service Center
    280 Broadway, 4th Floor (between Chambers and Reade Streets)
    New York, NY 10007

If your boiler was not inspected during the inspection cycle period, you must pay a civil penalty of $1,000. You must pay the penalty by certified check or money order, in US dollars, payable to NYC Department of Buildings. You can make the payment in person or by mail to:
