Gang Resistance Education and Training (GREAT) Program Information

Through Gang Resistance Education and Training (GREAT) program, the City aims to reduce gang activity.

GREAT is an eight-week classroom program for students in Seventh and Eighth Grade. The curriculum strives to reduce gang activity and teach young people about the consequences of gang involvement.

Specially trained GREAT police officers teach lessons that include crime victims' rights, cultural sensitivity, conflict resolution, responsibility, and goal setting.
