Organics Collection Program

The organics collection program allows the Department of Sanitation to collect food scraps, food-soiled paper, and yard waste from residents in select areas and turn it into compost or renewable energy.

Participants will receive starter kits that include:

  • A brown organics bin
  • A small kitchen container

Residents participating in the program should place their organic waste curbside according to their neighborhood’s collection schedule.

Greenpoint, North Williamsburg, Bay Ridge, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Columbia St Waterfront District, Gowanus, Greenwood Heights, Park Slope, Red Hook, Sunset Park, Windsor Terrace

 

Bronx

Country Club, Edgewater Park, Fieldston, North Riverdale, Riverdale, Silverbeach Gardens, Throgs Neck

 

Queens 

Glendale, Middle Village, Maspeth, Hamilton Beach, Howard Beach, Lindenwood, South Ozone Park, Ozone Park, South Richmond Hill

 

Staten Island

Castleton Corners, Graniteville, Mariners Harbor, Port Richmond, West Brighton, Westerleigh
