Prospect Park covers more than 526 acres in the heart of Brooklyn and houses dog runs, playgrounds, an ice skating rink, a nature center, and more. The park is open from 5 AM to 1 AM.
Cars are only allowed in Prospect Park during specified hours. As of July 2015, the West Drive is permanently closed to cars between Grand Army Plaza and Park Circle. The East Drive (northbound) between the Park Circle entrance and the Grand Army Plaza exit is open to motor vehicles Monday to Friday, from 7 AM to 9 PM, except on holidays.
Prospect Park has off-leash hours for dogs from from 5 AM to 9 AM and from 9 PM to 1 AM in the Long Meadow, Nethermead, and Peninsula sections of the park.
