The City provides information about the status of your child's transportation to his or her home school or relocated school after Hurricane Sandy.
The City provides student transportation to and from school by yellow bus or MetroCard according to grade, walking distance from the school, and other factors.
General education students must meet distance criteria to receive free transportation. For more information, contact your school.
If a child misses a school bus, the Office of Pupil Transportation helps the child get to school.
The City will no longer provide bus service for 7th and 8th grade general education students on Staten Island who previously qualified for a transportation variance. If you applied for a different variance and were approved, the student will receive transportation under their new variance. Parents can also appeal the variance decision.
