Snow or Ice on Roadway Removal

When it snows, the City launches a winter snow storm operation and clears snow and ice from the roadways. City streets may be spread with salt and calcium chloride and/or plowed to create a passable driving lane, but blacktop may not be visible.

The City does NOT clear access to automobiles, sidewalks, or driveways, even if the obstruction was caused by a City plow.

Snow is always plowed to the right side of the street because the same trucks must plow both one-way and two-way streets. Once the plows are mounted on trucks they cannot be shifted from one direction to the other.

When the City is engaged in a winter snow storm operation to clear snow or ice from roadways, it cannot respond to individual plowing or spreading requests.

Your report of a snowy or icy roadway will be collected and used to monitor snow conditions and the City's snow clearing operation.
