Executive Education Program

Strategic Steps For Growth is a nine-month executive education program designed specifically for entrepreneurs. The program is offered by the New York City Department of Small Business Services and the following partners:

  • For the M/WBE Program - New York University Stern School of Business' Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation
  • For the Media & Entertainment program - New York University Stern School of Business' Entertainment, Media & Technology Program

Strategic Steps for Growth participants will gain knowledge and a network of resources through classroom curriculum, using their businesses as live case studies, peer-to-peer mentoring and advice from business professionals who serve as guest experts in the class sessions. Throughout the program, participants will be developing a detailed, custom three-year strategic growth plan for their businesses. Graduates will receive a Certificate from the NYU Stern Schools of Business' Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

This is an application-based program that charges tuition. The criteria for applicants are as follows:

M/WBE Program:

  • Be certified by the City as a Minority or Woman-owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE)
  • Have been operating for at least three years with revenues of between $500,000 and $10 million during that time
  • Have at least two full-time employees (can include the business owner)
  • Have a main or branch business location in one of the five NYC boroughs

Media & Entertainment Program:

  • Be a media and/or entertainment industry firm
  • Have been operating for at least one year with revenues of between $150,000 and $10 million during that time
  • Have at least one full-time employee (can include the business owner)
  • Have a main or branch business location in one of the five NYC boroughs
