Media Employee Training Program

The New York City Department of Small Business Services and the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment announced that $500,000 is available through the new training program, Made in NY Media Employee Training. The program is designed to help small businesses in the media and entertainment sectors train their employees in new technologies. Qualifying businesses may be granted up to 70% of training costs, covering:

  • External training providers
  • Trainee wages
  • Internal instructor wages
  • Training facilities
  • Books and materials

Businesses will be assessed on their ability to impact New York City's economy. Grants are primarily offered to businesses that need training for:

  • New equipment or software investment
  • New product or market investment
  • Employees to perform new or different jobs
  • Updating outdated skills
  • Advanced occupational skills
