Coat Drive

You can donate new or gently used coats to the New York Cares Coat Drive. Homeless shelters, community organizations, and groups assisting people in need will distribute the coats.

From November 14 through December 29, you can donate coats at the following locations:

  • NYPD police precincts accept donations 24/7.
  • Participating Queens public libraries during library hours.
  • Penn Station at the LIRR Concourse, Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 9:30 AM.
  • Grand Central Station at Track 16 - Graybar Passage, Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 9:30 AM.

You can also donate at the New York Cares Coat Drive warehouse, located at 157 West 31st Street between 6th and 7th Avenues in Manhattan. It is open Monday to Friday from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Before dropping off items at the warehouse, call (646) 801-4022 to make an appointment for a staff member to meet you and collect the items.

Drop-off sites will only accept donations of 2 large bags or less. Any donation larger than 2 bags must be dropped off directly at the Coat Drive Warehouse.
