All Flags to Fly at Half-Mast Effective Today in Respect for Victims of the Orlando Shooting

City also will light City Hall in rainbow colors to represent LGBT pride

NEW YORK–As a mark of respect for the victims of the Orlando, Florida shooting, all flags shall be flown at half-staff, effective immediately, by order of the City of New York, Bill de Blasio. In addition, the City will light City Hall in rainbow colors to represent LGBT pride at sunset.

This includes all flags – the New York State and City flags, the Pride flag and the POW-MIA flags – on all City buildings, as well as stationary flagstaffs throughout the five boroughs.

Effective:  Immediately, June 12, 2016
