License Types

• New License Application Service Notice - As of September 7, 2021, all new license applications are required to be submitted online at nyc.gov/dobnow. See the New License Application User Guide for step-by-step directions.

• License Renewal Service Notice – all licenses/registrations expiring during the state of emergency are extended.

• License Renewal Applications Service Notice – applications to renew a license/registration are required to be submitted online at nyc.gov/dobnow. See the Licensing Renewal Application User Guide for step-by-step directions.

Operations

• Initial and Change request applications can be mailed or dropped off to the Licensing Unit. In-person services remain for approved new licensees and plate/seal pick up only. Drop off and in-person service hours are from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm.

• COVID-19: DOB Response
