Bias-Based Harassment by Law Enforcement


Bias-based Profliing by Law Enforcement occurs when police or peace officers target you for arrest or other criminal law enforcement action, not because of specific information linking you to unlawful activity, but instead because of your protected status under the Law - such as your race, national origin, color, religion, age, immigration or citizenship status, gender, gender identity, sexual orientations, disability, or housing status.

The NYC Commission on Human Rights ensures that those who experience bias-based harassment because of who they are are protected by the City Human Rights Law.
