FOIL Requests

New York State's Freedom of Information Law (Public Officers Law §§84-90), commonly known as FOIL, allows members of the public to access records maintained by governmental agencies.

FOIL requests must be made in writing. When making your FOIL request for records, please be as specific as possible so that the CCRB can properly identify records that are responsive to your request.

You can submit a FOIL request in two ways:

**By Mail:**
If you wish to submit your FOIL request by mail, please send your FOIL request to the following address:

In your letter requesting CCRB records via FOIL, please include your full name and your address where records can be sent.

**FOIL Appeal Procedures:**
Any person denied access to a record may appeal within thirty (30) days by writing a letter requesting an appeal to:
