STATEMENT FROM CCRB CHAIR MAYA WILEY ON CITY OF NEW YORK AND PBA CONTRACT AGREEMENT

“The CCRB commends the City and the PBA for reaching a contract agreement that mandates the use of body-worn cameras to the entire police workforce by 2019. Video footage of police-civilian encounters provides a more definitive account of events and has assisted CCRB in conducting faster and thorough investigations.  The implementation of body cameras will undoubtedly bring greater transparency, improve police accountability and increase public trust.”
