Support Permitting Agency

New York State Department of Health

The New York State Department of Health (State DOH) protects, improves, and promotes the health, productivity, public safety, and wellbeing of all New Yorkers.

New York State DOH permits include:

  • Part 18 Permit: If you are having an event with 5,000 people or more, which includes all personnel, attendees, spectators, and bystanders, you are required to apply for a Part 18 Permit. The purpose of Part 18 is to ensure that if something happens to someone at your event, you are responsible to bring in additional resources or services to serve as support.
  • Part 7 Permit: If you are having an event where people congregate for more than 24 hours, you are required to apply for a Part 7 Permit. You may need both the Part 7 Permit (which would cover camping, food vending, water supply, sanitation, etc.) as well as the Part 18 Permit (which would cover medical).

State DOH requires a signed and notarized original copy of your application. To receive a copy of the Part 18 Permit or Part 7 Permit applications, please contact State DOH at 212-417-4455.
