Tobacco Enforcement Unit

The Tobacco Enforcement Unit inspects merchants to enforce State and City Laws that prohibit the sale and distribution of tobacco products to individuals under 21 for New York State and New York City. Join our team to help with compliance checks.


Internships

DCWP is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic students at the undergraduate and graduate level to join its operations as Interns. By joining DCWP's innovative and collaborative team, prospective interns will aid efforts to protect and enhance the daily economic lives of New Yorkers to create thriving communities. Interns will gain an in-depth understanding of DCWP's valued relationship with consumers, businesses, and workers. Continuously, interns will gain public service experience in a wide variety of professional areas.

Depending on the prospective intern's abilities, experience, and interests, DCWP will place them in a division that is most compatible. Divisions include Administration, Collections, Communications & Marketing, Consumer Services, Enforcement, External Affairs, Finance, General Counsel's Office, Human Capital, Licensing, Office of Financial Empowerment, Office of Labor Policy & Standards, and Technology and Strategic Solutions. Individual supervision is provided within each division. DCWP interns will have the opportunity to attend weekly seminars and meetings presented by DCWP professional staff. Internships are unpaid; academic credit can be earned. Flexible scheduling is available.
