What laws are under DCA's jurisdiction?
DCA started with the passage of New York City's landmark Consumer Protection Law in 1969. Since then, our work has expanded to protect and enhance the lives of all players in the marketplace, including consumers, businesses, and workers. We license more than 81,000 businesses in more than 50 industries and enforce key consumer protection, licensing, and workplace laws that apply to countless more. Visit our Laws page for more information.

How can I find out about upcoming law/rule changes?
The City Record publishes notices of public hearing for proposed law and rule changes at least 30 days before the public hearing date. We also post recent law and rule changes to the New Laws & Rules page.

How do I review DCA public records/submit a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request?
Visit our FOIL Request page for more information.
