Industry Relations

We build strong, lasting partnerships in the design and construction industries. To foster these relationships, we offer an array of programs, activities, and resources.

Programs and Activities

Industry Representatives Meetings

The success of the MWBE program requires a successful partnership with the industry. The Chief Diversity Officer meets on a regular basis with industry leaders including the Building Trade Employers Association, the New York Building Congress, the General Contractors Association, AIANY, ACEC and NOMA/NYCOBA. Additionally, the Chief Diversity Officer meets with firms and consultants who are interested in doing business with DDC and works to resolve any issues.

Open House

We continue to host agency open houses for contractors and consultants. The open house introduces attendees to the agency and its processes, explains the project pipeline, and provides a chance for attendees to ask questions to senior staff members.

Commissioner’s Industry Leaders Roundtable

The Commissioner maintains a roundtable that includes representatives of the BTEA, GCA, NYBC, AIANY, ACEC and the chair of the DDC External Advisory Board. The Commissioner meets with members of the roundtable on a quarterly basis where he provides an update of agency activities and the representatives are free to share concerns or report on any issues pertinent to their respective organizations.
