The NYC Housing Connect Lottery Map is a new enhanced interactive tool to help affordable housing applicants visualize open lotteries across New York City
NEW YORK, NY – New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development Commissioner Maria Torres-Springer today announced the release of a new interactive map that will allow users to identify open lotteries for affordable housing developments throughout the city. The new map is the latest in a series of actions HPD has taken simplify the process to find and apply to affordable housing opportunities. Other new tools help explain income levels, allow applicants to search detailed development profiles, and a few helpful guides to provide applicants with key information on the lottery process.
“As we continue to develop affordable housing at record pace through Housing New York, we are also looking to adopt new and creative strategies to educate New Yorkers about the opportunities available through Housing Connect. We’re excited to debut this new tool that visualizes our open housing lotteries in a clear and accessible way, and is the latest in a series of efforts to streamline the process of applying for affordable housing,” said Housing Preservation and Development Commissioner Maria Torres-Springer.
The map is regularly updated to plot buildings that are currently accepting applications throughout the five boroughs. Potential applicants can click on icons to learn more details about an affordable housing lottery, including the deadline date and link to apply. Using the search feature, applicants are now able to search by borough, income level, and/or household size to determine eligibility prior to submitting an application.
