HPD Build-Out

The Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD), in partnership with the NYC Department of Small Business Services, is proud to announce its HPD Build-Out networking and contractor seminar series.

The HPD Build-Out series focuses on aiding HPD development partners identify potential contractors or professional service providers for work on affordable housing projects. The official kick-off for the HPD Build-Out Networking event will be Wednesday, September 13th.

Developers, General Contractors, Local Small Businesses or Minority/Women-Owned Enterprises (M/WBEs) must complete the appropriate survey noted below in order to be considered to participate in this event.

Developers

If your development team, including hiring entities, either (i) currently has an HPD/HDC supported project underway; (ii) recently closed on a HPD/ HDC supported project or (iii) may have an affordable housing project in the pipeline, please complete this 5-minute survey so that we have a sense of the specific hiring needs for your project.

This survey should be completed by a person on your team that is familiar with the specific construction work to be performed or the professional services needed on your project. Based on the results of your completed survey, HPD will then determine which businesses will participate in the face-to-face meetings with your hiring teams. The deadline for completing the survey is August 4, 2017.

Contractors / Professional Service Providers

If you are a Local Small Business or a Minority/Woman-owned Business Enterprise seeking opportunities on HPD development projects, you must complete this 5-minute survey to be eligible for an HPD Build-Out networking event invitation. The deadline for turning in this survey is August 14, 2017.

In addition to networking opportunities, HPD Build-Out provides industry-related seminars, in conjunction with SBS, to aid local small businesses and Minority/Women-Owned Business Enterprises, build capacity on affordable housing development projects. These seminars will be offered quarterly throughout the year in various modalities. Specific seminar topics and offering dates will be posted on the HPD Build-Out site after the kick-off networking event.
