The City of New York’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development intends to exercise its renewal option with Urban Homesteading Assistance Board (UHAB), Inc. for the Housing Management and Maintenance Training contract for the provision of workshop classes, Citywide, The majority of the of the workshops will be held at 100 Gold Street, Manhattan, New York 10038. There shall be several courses that will take place off site in local communities throughout the City. The term of the renewal is from 7/01/2018 to 6/30/2021. UHAB provides workshop classes in building management to residential building owners and managers; Tenant Interim Lease (TIL) Tenant Association members and officers; and Housing Development Fund Corporation (HDFC) shareholders and Board of Directors. The classes are a combination of Introductory Management Courses, Advanced Management Courses, Certification programs, and Seminars. Services to be provided under this contract would include but not limited to:

  • Provide a comprehensive schedule of classes that is accessible to potential participants.
  • Promote outreach to the communities serviced by HPD through its housing initiatives.

 Request for Qualifications (RFQ):

HPD is issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) in response to HUD's announcement of its Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant of 2017, which provides funding for the HPD Primary Prevention Program (PPP). PPP offers federally funded grants for lead treatment to owners of single and multifamily buildings constructed prior to 1960.
HPD intends to respond to the grant and will work with Community Based Organization(s) to undertake outreach to local building owners and residents in specific neighborhoods in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens, listed in the RFQ.
