The Hurricane Service Center offers in-person support and access to services to individuals affected by the hurricanes, and will be open from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday and 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday. The Hurricane Service Center is closed on legal holidays, including November 23 through 25 for Thanksgiving. The City of New York urges individuals planning to visit the service center to make an appointment online or by calling 311.
NYC government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community-based organizations will be on-site to help connect families and individuals to critical services, including enrollment in public benefits and health insurance, food assistance, and mental health counseling.
You can apply for SNAP at the Hurricane Service Center or on the ACCESS HRA website. You can download the mobile app to submit documents. You can also call Infoline at 718-557-1399, visit a SNAP center or one of our partner CBOs to get or submit an application. When applying in person, be sure to note that you are seeking relief due to the hurricanes. Learn more about SNAP.
For other critical services—such as enrollment in health insurance, mental health counseling, emergency pharmacy assistance, legal consultations, veterinary care and pet supplies, and information on immunization assistance targeted toward school enrollment, meals for seniors, and assistance for displaced students—we encourage you to visit New York City’s Hurricane Service Center.
