The following cultural institutions will provide free membership benefits to all eligible IDNYC card holders, regardless of when they were issued their IDNYC card:
2016 benefits at the participating institutions not listed above are available only to new cardholders who are issued their IDNYC card on or after January 1, 2016. The date of issue is exactly five years before the expiration date on the face of the card.
Cultural memberships redeemed through IDNYC will be good for one year from the date the membership benefit is redeemed. Institutions have different protocols for enrolling members; check with the participating institution for more details. For the most guaranteed cultural benefits, card holders should redeem memberships in the same calendar year that they are issued their card.
IDNYC card holders are eligible for free memberships only if they have not been a member of the particular institution they’re seeking to join since January 1, 2012. Individuals who have been members of a given institution since that date are not eligible for a free membership through IDNYC.
