Students will identify local immigrant communities, researching how and why they have migrated. They will explore individual narratives of local immigrants or refugees, reflecting on which objects and traditions individuals and communities bring along with them when they migrate. Additionally, they will examine the types of services their city currently provides to assist immigrants and refugees. Students will create documentaries or film series to address the additional resources or services needed to help these communities adjust or bring to light existing services to make them more accessible to individuals.
