FOIL Requests

A Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request is a request to obtain records/documents from New York State or local government agencies. Records that are determined to be responsive and disclosable are, to the extent possible, made available to you within twenty (20) business days after receipt of your request. More time may be required if a request is complex or if the records sought are voluminous.

All Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests to the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) should be submitted via NYC OpenRecords (nyc.gov/openrecords). Select "Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment" from the agency dropdown menu.

MOME regularly receives requests for data about the film permits it has issued. Data about film permits that involve parking requests, including shooting dates, location, and the type of production, are available on the NYC Open Data website at: https://data.cityofnewyork.us/City-Government/Film-Permits/tg4x-b46p.
