The New York City Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) calls for submission of filmmakers and producers to participate in the 3rd Annual MOME Finance Lab produced by Winston Baker on April 24, 2019 at the Dream Downtown Hotel in New York City.

This will be an opportunity for nominated participants to learn strategies for packaging, financing and selling their independent film projects during a 3-hour intensive workshop led by five (5) financiers, acquisition executives, sales agents and dealmakers. Additionally, participants will have complimentary access to Winston Baker's 11th Annual TV and Film Finance Forum, including the Luncheon, Keynotes, Panels and Reception held immediately after the MOME Finance Lab.

Finally, 3 filmmakers/producers will have the opportunity to pitch one project each during the TV & Film Finance Forum in front of all the forum participants which will include 100+ financiers, acquisition executives, sales agents, producers, filmmakers and dealmakers. The top 3 participants will be announced one week prior to the conference.

The MOME Finance Lab aims to cultivate films in New York City made by, about, and for women. In order to be considered for the Finance Lab and Forum, participants must meet the following criteria:

  • New York City residency 
  • Film project at an accredited film festival in the past 3 years
  • Finalized script for a film of 69 minutes or more by, about, or for women in the drama, comedy, thriller/horror, or documentary genre 
  • Previously secured, or securable rights (including any underlying rights) in the proposed content 
  • Script registered with the Writers Guild of America
  • A project that requires financing and rationale for the amount
  • A draft finance plan for the film and listing of any funding sources already secured 
  • A one-page synopsis of the story?
  • Availability to attend the MOME Finance Lab and Film Finance Forum and TV & Film Film Finance Forum on April 24th in New York City in order to pitch your project, if chosen

This special event will be produced by the renowned film industry lab organizers Winston Baker.

Submisssion for the 2019 MOME Finance Lab is now closed. We will notify applicants by April 17, 2019 of their status.
