#MyNYCSong Contest Winners

MyNYCSong Winner

The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment and Guitar Mash have partnered to present the #MyNYCSong contest, in which young New Yorkers produce original songs inspired by New York City to share their creativity, talent, and love for their hometown. The winners receive a professional recording session, mentorships, and the opportunity to perform live at City Winery, an annual play-along, sing-along event featuring renowned guitarists and singer-songwriters.

Guitar Mash, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was created with the belief that playing and singing music with other people connects us in a profound way. Since 2012, Guitar Mash has connected renowned guitarists and singer-songwriters with audiences in new and surprising ways, bringing together thousands of players and music lovers diverse in age, culture, socio-economic level and musical ability to play and sing through large-scale jams and intimate workshops. Working closely with community-based organizations, Guitar Mash provides underserved teens with opportunities for communal playing and songwriting. The Songwriting Contest is among several Guitar Mash programs for teens, including the Teen Acoustic Guitar Project and the monthly Teen Songwriter Circle co-hosted by NYU.
