Hiring Incentives for Businesses

Overview

State and Federal government encourages workplace diversity by offering various incentives to private-sector businesses for hiring individuals with disabilities. These incentives are designed to reduce hiring costs as well as federal and/or state income tax liability.


ACCES-VR Work Try Out Program

The Work Try-Out (WTO) is a program in which ACCES-VR can can reimburse a new employee's wages for up to 480 hours in order to give the employee and employer a chance to assess whether the employee's skills match the job requirements.

In addition to reducing hiring costs, the WTO provides a unique opportunity to insure the job is the best fit for both the employer and employee.

ACCES-VR On The Job Training

On-the-Job Training (OJT) is a program by which ACCES-VR can reimburse a new employee's salary for a mutually agreed upon length of time, contingent on the complexity of the job and the length of training time needed. The expected outcome is permanent employment.

Employers know their business and staffing needs. By using the OJT program, employers have the opportunity to train their staff precisely according to industry needs, while gaining a reliable and dependable employee.
