Mount Sinai Wheelchair and Seating Clinic

Mount Sinai initiated the Wheelchair and Seating Clinic to acknowledge how the advances made in seating and mobility technology need to be incorporated into the lives of people who use wheelchairs. Clinic staff work with patients to ensure the proper fit of mobility devices and seating systems, in order to halt the progression of any deformity that exists and promote good skin integrity.

Hands-on physical assessments are performed and are supplemented with pressure-mapping technology when warranted. The clinic is led by Jenny Lieberman, MSOTR/L, ATP, who works closely with other departments, including wound care, geriatrics, medicine and neurology, to provide appropriate interventions.
