Deputy Commissioner for Collaborative Policing: Susan Herman
The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Collaborative Policing (DCCP), focuses on partnering with other city agencies, non-profits, community-based organizations, the faith-based community, and other New York City stakeholders on a wide variety of public-safety initiatives. Today's NYPD views public safety as both a shared responsibility and a shared opportunity.
DCCP identifies needs and problems and then builds partnerships to make real progress toward solutions. Since the beginning of 2014, DCCP's work has focused on three areas: increasing access to police services; expanding non-enforcement options when possible and appropriate; and developing more focused and strategic uses of enforcement when enforcement is necessary.
