Sustainable design can shape a development project from the remediation of site before development through to the construction and occupancy of a new building. To promote green remediation and resilient development techniques at development sites across New York City, OER developed the Sustainability and Climate Change Resilience Survey. Under this program Sustainability experts reviewed the design plans for 20 proposed developments across the city and made recommendations on how developers could enhance green remediation, flood mitigation and energy efficiency at their projects. Through the survey recommendations, OER seeks to elevate developers’ awareness of what sustainable building practices can be incorporated into their developments.
A final report is being produced to share tips and techniques from the survey with the wider development and remediation community.
