Cassie comes to DVS with nine years of nonprofit management and development experience. She most recently served as the Associate Director of Sponsorship and Development with the Mayor's Office of Special Projects and Community Events where she designed and launched the office's first strategic partnership program. Over the course of almost two years, Cassie built a portfolio of roughly 50 corporate and nonprofit partners whose funding directly supported more than 60 of Mayor de Blasio and First Lady McCray'''s community events and outreach initiatives. Prior to joining city government, Cassie worked with StoryCorps, a national oral history project whose content is broadcast on National Public Radio and PBS. At StoryCorps, Cassie created and managed the organization's first national membership program and major donor circle. She also played a key role in helping StoryCorps develop a four-year strategic plan that included the launch of a new LGBT-focused storytelling initiative. In 2015, Cassie was named as a Community Innovation Fellow by Re: Gender (formerly the National Council for Research on Women).Cassie serves on the advisory board of the United War Veterans Council and is a member of the Adelphi University Alumni Council. She holds an MS in Nonprofit Management from the Milano School of International Affairs, Management & Urban Policy at The New School and a BA in Political Science from Adelphi University. She is a born and raised Brooklynite who is a lifelong Mets and Jets fan. Visiting historic railways and ships is one of her favorite hobbies in addition to exploring the beloved city she calls home. Her grandfather and uncles are also proud Army Veterans.
