Gabriel Ramos is a Whole Health Coordinator in the Whole Health & Community Resilience line of action at the New York City Department of Veterans' Services. In this position, he supports the VetsThriveNYC Whole Health Program through direct city-wide outreach and family engagement, specifically focusing on its (C2) component: Connection Through Peer Intervention.
Prior to joining Team DVS, Ramos served as an Outreach Ambassador for The Headstrong Project, where he promoted the organization's programs to veteran and civilian audiences, provided peer support and mentorship, and developed an awareness campaign around PTSD. Prior to his work at Headstrong, Ramos worked in sales at Enterprise, serving as a Branch Manager responsible for opening and operating a new facility and developing new business relationships.
Ramos is a veteran of the US Marine Corps, having deployed to Ramadi, Iraq in 2004 and as part of the 11TH Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2006. He holds a BA from Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he is also currently pursuing a Masters in Administrative Sciences.
Gabe was a fellow with The Mission Continues, an organization which empowers veterans to continue their service through community impact. He also volunteers as a CDM ambassador for the Travis Manion Foundation, which engages veterans and families of fallen heroes to inspire young adults to live with character, develop their leadership skills, and activate them to serve their communities. Ramos is a diehard Springsteen devotee, long-suffering Mets / Jets fan, and an avid reader.
