Lamarr is one of team DVS' Veteran Peer Coordinators. He provides direct assistance to homeless veterans as their advocate. He oversees the entire housing process and ensures that each veteran has transportation to apartment viewings, receives ongoing communication about the status of their application(s), has all their vital documents, and does not wait long periods of time for inspections, move-in letters, check processing and other governmental actions. He works to cultivate an integrative health model to ensure the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of veterans and their families
Prior to joining DVS, Lamarr served as the Program Manager for the Department of Defense Contracts at the New York Council on Accreditation. In this capacity, he was responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of all Department of Defense contracts, which included creating project goals and monitoring performance measures. Lamarr additionally worked at Services For the Underserved as the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program Director and then the Senior Coordinator for Vet To Vet Services. He managed program combined budgets in excess of $1 million and a total staff of 9 employees.Lamarr served in the United States Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer from 1997-2000. He achieved a successful record for managing complex tactical and administrative situations, as well as supervised and mentored hundreds of sailors and marines throughout his military career. Lamarr holds a degree in Community and Human Services from Empire State College and is a Certified Workforce Development Professional.
