Latisha M. Russaw is currently the Director of Engagement and Events at DVS. She is responsible for developing and managing DVS' relationships with community stake holders, in which she identifies community organizations and resources to cultivate and enhance veteran-specific engagement and opportunity in NYC. In doing so, Latisha coordinates and implements outreach events throughout all 5 boroughs. Additionally, Latisha acts as an advisor to the Commissioner of Veterans' Affairs, city agencies, and veterans and their families.
One of the most notable projects of her tenure includes serving as contact person to Agency Liaisons under Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg's Executive Order No. 110, Coordination of Citywide Services for Veterans issued on January 17, 2008. In addition, she served as Community Liaison on Veteran issues at the Bronx Borough President's Office.Latisha's knowledge of veterans' issues is a result of both personal and professional experience. She comes from a military family and is a United States Air Force Desert Storm veteran.
