Martine Nivose serves as DVS' Brooklyn Outreach Community Coordinator. She joined the United States Navy in August 2000. She was stationed on board the Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) throughout her Active duty time. Martine did two deployments to the Middle East and her ship was part of the battle group to deployment when 911 happened.After her time on Active duty, she joined the United States Navy Reserves and again deployed with the Navy Marine Construction Battalion 21 in 2010. Once she returned from that deployment she wanted to help veterans in her unit so she took advantage of the Montgomery G.I. Bill and obtained her Bachelors at St. Francis College in Brooklyn in Sociology. With the degree from St. Francis she was able to help other veterans in her unit to apply and use their G.I Bill and other veteran benefits to further their educations.
