Commitment

WE NYC is committed to learning more about the unique opportunities and obstacles faced by woman-owned businesses in New York City and designing a suite of innovative programs and strategies to address the key challenges women face when they start, operate, and grow a business in New York City.

Our goal is to serve 5,000 women entrepreneurs and small business owners over the next three years with free tailored business services.

To help inform these solutions, the City will leverage the expertise and support of a diverse set of public, private, non-profit and philanthropic partners through the launch of the WE NYC Advisory Council. We are also undertaking a study to better understand the landscape and needs of women entrepreneurs across all sectors, and organizing a series of community forums throughout New York City to connect with underserved women entrepreneurs, as well as potential entrepreneurs, in all five boroughs.

The forums will be designed to facilitate open conversation, connect participants to existing resources, and empower women entrepreneurs to serve as the co-creators of WE NYC, collaborating with the City to conceptualize services that make sense for their lives.

The information we collect through these different channels will help us to develop a set of strategies in the coming months to help women entrepreneurs thrive in New York City.
