New Online Features Coming Next Week: Boiler and Elevator Violations Search Portal, Boiler Violation Payments and Waiver Requests in DOB NOW: Safety

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Buildings has been accelerating the move to digital. We've continually made changes with the health of the public and our staff in mind. As more of our services move online, we promise to keep our customers updated. In line with that, we're announcing that starting July 22, 2020, DOB is launching a new Violations portal in DOB NOW: Safety.

This portal will allow the public to search for boiler and elevator violations at a property and any amount due for these violations. From July 22 on, it will also be mandatory to submit in DOB NOW: Safety all payments for Failure to File an annual inspection report for low and high pressure boilers and requests to waive civil penalties resulting from these violations. For more on the changes and instructions on using the new portal please check out our Service Notice. Also see the June 2020 Service Notice for details about Elevator Violation Payments and Waiver Requests.
