Emergency Executive Order: Temporary Suspension of Construction Work

An Emergency Executive Order has been issued in New York City in response to the approach of Hurricane Henri.

Contractors and site safety professionals are alerted that all permitted outdoor construction, including street and sidewalk work, and any permitted construction work taking place on a property that is not fully enclosed, shall be suspended from 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2021 until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021.

Hurricane Henri is expected to produce sustained winds of over 73 mph. All builders, contractors, crane operators, and property owners must immediately secure their construction sites, buildings, and equipment.
