Register Today for DOB's Build Safe | Live Safe Digital Conference

Every year, the Department of Buildings looks forward to hosting our industry partners at our annual build safe | live safe conference. This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, our in-person event has been rescheduled for 2021. However, keeping in line with ongoing efforts to make more available online to our customers, we are pleased to announce our first-ever all digital, weeklong conference in its place:

Build Safe | Live Safe Digital 2020:
Safety, Innovation, & Sustainability

Join us online from September 21-25, and take part in seminars led by DOB experts on topics ranging from industry trends and safe construction operations to legal developments in sustainability, and more. We will also showcase the winning proposals of our Carbon Neutrality and Hack the Building Code Innovation Challenges. Many of these courses will also count toward AIA continuing education credits. Check out the course offerings and register today!

Help Shape NYC's Future for Years to Come: Complete the Census

The 2020 Census is ending on September 30 and it is critical that all New Yorkers are counted. New York City stands to lose billions of dollars in federal aid every single year for schools, hospitals, health clinics, affordable housing, transportation, and more, as well as our representation in Congress and in Albany if we do not achieve a complete count.

The Census is easy, safe, and confidential. It can be completed online or by phone; it's just 10 simple questions that can be answered in under 10 minutes. By law, all responses are completely confidential and cannot be shared with anyone. There are no questions about immigration, citizenship, criminal history, or income. Go to or call 844-330-2020 to complete your census today. New York City’s future depends on it.
